A versatile horse experienced in many disciplines from jumping to team penning, Checkers began competing in Mountain Trail in 2006. Owned by Mountain Trail pioneer Mark Bolender, Checkers went on to win the overall high point and National Champion titles in 2008, 2009, and 2010 – all while being ridden bridle-less! His favorite obstacles include The Swinging Bridge, Cross Bucks and Texas Two Step. Now retired from competition, Checkers is still working with Mark to train future Mountain Trail champions, and being an ambassador for this exciting discipline!
